Wack DJ's...

Thought I had to speak my mind about WACK DJ's and I'm sure that there will be supporters of my opinion as this has been discussed many a time and should be out in the open.

Understandably, technology has allowed savvy tech individuals to obtain music whether they do it legally or illegally via the internet. Some of which have created such an amazing collection that they then believe that they can become DJ's due to what they believe is the most amazing collection ever! Believe you me, a professional DJ does not indicate that everything within which is in their collection due to "personal interests" is the ultimate. A professional DJ would be one of which has many traits and one of them is the ability to read and control your crowd and earn their respect. Play for the crowd and be the entertainer as that is your duty. What you like does not reflect the same as everybody on the dancefloor. A true professional would work the floor giving shades of light and dark in their set to be able to please anything from difference in sex, personal tastes, rotation of attention from different patrons etc, go for the majority and not the minority. Like the saying goes, if it aint broke, don't fix it!

There is no pure indication as to what level an individual has to achieve as there aren't clear guidelines for skill levels to achieve but in my opinion, DJ's should be obtaining their recognition by how they portray their musical style by justifying their status through the speakers not mere hype and knowing friends who know friends therefore making them an instant supposed "Club Standard DJ." In all honesty though, the "Fake it til you make it" clause should not withstand in a circumstance such as the entertainment industry as it also depreciates the interest in whatever style certain individuals decide to pursue. There is plenty of software programs out on the market that can be obtained and be utilised to create a fake image of meeting standards. But seriously, if a DJ can obtain a gig but can't even beatmatch 2 songs together on a frequent basis as part of their set, could they please leave it to the one's who can and build your skill level up until it is possible. I know it sounds like I'm sounding arrogant but the simplicity of a DJ achieveing the before-mentioned comment is as simple as daylight no matter the circumstances.
